ONE LONG WEEK...

Its been exactly one full week since my surgery. Im still swollen, my lips have gone down in size. I had a check up appointment with Dr. Shah, he took out my nose splints. WOOOOWEEEEE i know how it feels to be able to BREATHE! my first breathe of fresh air was amazing! AND just that was worth what ive been going through. Next week hes going to teach me to put in my rubber bands but i learned today that I have to keep them in for 4 weeks, which means i still wont be able to talk??? HOW THE HECK CAN I WORK.... idk i need to think hard about that one. Today was the best day so far since the surgery. Typically id be begging for pain meds but nope i feel great...cross my fingers. I had some beef broth and and italian soda hmmmm mmmm. i actually cant wait till i can eat soft foods though. Im loving the idea of mashmotatoes and noodles. mmm mmm. Im starving, can you tell?
This morning i weighed myself...I HAVE LOST 8LBS IN 7 DAYS?? no no no. ahh what else.
In conclusion christmas is soon and now im actually excited that its going to be a happy one :)i am so happy i can breathe. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

  3. Yeah im 100 times better than the intial first couple of days, I feel better and i can go outside comfortably, and im actually getting used to sleeping ellivated finally, so i can get atleast 6 hours sleep or so which is still kinda dismall, especially when you got nothing to do but recover. The main thing is the swelling, dont get my wrong its gone down heaps since the first couple of days but ive got Huge lips and its looked like ive had botox and im a guy... and i look like a defunct celebrity with ominous trout lips.

Apart from that the boredom is creeping, especially being on uni holidays and it being perfect sunny days with perfect blue sky and not really being in the right capacity to go out with friends and being able to go the beach ahhhh... and the Christmas food, thats another thing ill sadly miss out this year, hoards of great seafood on christmas Ahhhhh and i can only enjoy my meager liquid Diet with Protein shakes and Other sad food hahahaha.

Anyways good luck with your recovery hope your dont die of boredom, im sure the swelling with subside enough in the next week or 2 to get back to some relative form or normalsy

  5. Yeah, Im totally totally STARVING and losing so much muscle mass, Uhhhh its dreaded, but i gotta heal first, i rather lose it now and gain it back and have nicely healed jaw than try and work out and do something i regret. BUT OMG FOOD!, Im was getting so desperate that i want to put proper food in a blender and then i think how gluggly and gross it would be and then i get turned off. (Mmmmmmm Pizza in blender HAHAHA)

But you know the main thing that will be great, being able to eat food properly FINALLY! actually being able to bite into a sandwhich or something and it actually breaks off cleanly and not trying to gnaw at it from the side and constant using your premolars, because thats the main thing my friends and others never really got, how crappy eating was and biting into foods was, E.g eating a ham sandwhich and biting into and and basically pulling out all the ham and then you have no sandwhich. :(

  6. I KNOW IM LOSING SO MUCH WEIGHT. its not good... and i know how you feel about biting into things. I trained my tongue to act as my front teeth ahaa. its gnna be weird to eat like a normal person and AH! i cant wait. im going to be so excited when i get my braces off and everything is all said and done!!! I cannot wait for that day.

Ive been drinking frappacinos lol. & i never thought i would get tired of them but they are getting gross now. PIZZA SOUNDS SO YUMMY. DONT TEMPT ME haha

  7. Yeah Once the Braces are off, wont have to worry about teeth problems and it will be totally worth it overall. Hahaha ive been mainly drinking alot of Protein and health shakes and soups.

yeah at the moment its kinda wierd because your teeth are in the proper position now, and i totally thought it was gonna feel different, but it just feels the same, and when i push my tongue against my teeth it feels normal now, and ive forgotten what it use to feel like funnily enough haha (like i remeber it could poke between the 2 jaws but yeah), and i thought my tongue would be sitting funny, because before i has such a huge tongue, and the fact when i stuck it out like a little kid when making faces it would be big. i wonder if it will be different hmmmm

  8. Do you have a splint at the roof of your mouth?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Nah I dont, plus im not banded shut permantly for 6 weeks, i can take mine off to eat and brush my teeth and i replace them every 2 days, 4 different little rubber bands in box formations.

    How about you?

  10. OH!! ive been shut completley for 2 weeks but im going tomarrow to get the ones i think you have in...is it easy to talk??
and yeah i have the splint on the top of my mouth. which i want it GONE! but idk if its gnna hurt.....eeek

  11. yeah I just tried with my teeth closed and wow that is really hard to talk WOW, its 100 times easier with these little rubber bands cause i can open my mouth a little and its easier to drink, The whole time Ive never drunk from a straw or syringe etc, but I can drink from a cup or glass, Wasn't so easy the first couple does with not feeling my lip and stuff coming out occasionally, but yeah its funny i dont have a splint or anything.... even for the first couple of days i was allowed with rubber bands. and i heard a nurse asking if they needed wire cutters to cut off cut open my jaw in an emergency and my surgeon said they dont do that any more, at least in Australia. What is the splint for, because i know what it is and that it sits behind your top teeth. Because all the stitches i have are all along the top gumline between my lips and teeth, and the bottom jaw on the sides near the pre molars and no stitches near the front where the chin is, and ohhh 2 little stitches on the inside of my nose which he said prevents it changing etc etc.

  12. ohhh. idk what the splint is for.. im not wired shut i have rubber bands as well just really strong ones in a millions of directions. I have stitches in the same spot in my upper lip and stitches by my back molars on the bottom and below by my chin because i got a rhinoplasty as well. lol BUT yeah i cant talk at all. SOOO i will be happy when i can talk.

AND!! you live in AUSTRALIA... im so jealous. that has been my all time place to visit. its number one on my list of places i want to see! i hear its beautiful.

  13. No Worries, Yeah Australias Cool, but i guess i take the scenery for granted since Ive lived here all my life, I know its serene but its just a usual day hahaha, All i can say is i enjoy the weather alot, Just being able to wear shorts and a tshirt and thongs 24/7 pretty much.

When you say rhinoplasty do you mean genioplasty because thats the chin reduction/advancement surgery and aint rhinoplasty to do with the nose, because my surgeon was going to perform a genioplasty optional if my profile didn't fit in after the movement, and in the end he didn't and im pretty dam glad hahaha, because ive always had a strong jawline and its a nice masculine trait and i still have a nice chin but it fits in a lot better with the jaw moved back.

Anyways if you use msn add me cause I'm pretty much bored out of my mind and since its holidays my friends are out all day pretty much haha and no ones online really (Yourdrunk@hotmail.com) we can have a chat about Australia anything really...

  14. lol when you said thongs it took me a minute to think flip flops. haha
oh yes im sorry i meant geniplasty. lol yeah i didnt want a masculine jaw line. haha so i went for it.. thats the part that hurts the most though. grrrr.
no i dont have msn but i have a faceboook....
