It has been exactly two weeks from surgery. I had two appointments today with the orthodontist and DR.Shah. He switched my rubber bands from surgery to more thinner rubber bands but im still not able to talk with them on... GRRR. but i have to tell you. the best feeling in the world was that moment he took the rubber bands off and i partially opened my jaw and saw my amazing teeth!!! im so excited to see the end results. I got an A+ on hygiene he said. so i must be doing something right. :) yay. haha I find it very difficult to drive in the car though, i get so nausea's... ehh.

hmm what else. TODAY! i will be able to eat soft foods... mash potatoes and gravy, garlic noodles.. wooohoo i cant wait. why am i not eating now??? haha

It felt great to go outside though. Its so gorgeous outside and the holiday spirit is def. in the air. Im going to start going for walks around the neighborhood. that sounds like a good idea to get my strength back. then maybe some ab workouts next week!! woot.

mmmm. what else. im still really swollen but its going down from week one.. so day by day its getting better. which makes sense. lol

im so excited about this process now and am very eager to see the end results. I know it wont be for awhile but i still can be excited. ill update next week!

ONE LONG WEEK...

Its been exactly one full week since my surgery. Im still swollen, my lips have gone down in size. I had a check up appointment with Dr. Shah, he took out my nose splints. WOOOOWEEEEE i know how it feels to be able to BREATHE! my first breathe of fresh air was amazing! AND just that was worth what ive been going through. Next week hes going to teach me to put in my rubber bands but i learned today that I have to keep them in for 4 weeks, which means i still wont be able to talk??? HOW THE HECK CAN I WORK.... idk i need to think hard about that one. Today was the best day so far since the surgery. Typically id be begging for pain meds but nope i feel great...cross my fingers. I had some beef broth and and italian soda hmmmm mmmm. i actually cant wait till i can eat soft foods though. Im loving the idea of mashmotatoes and noodles. mmm mmm. Im starving, can you tell?
This morning i weighed myself...I HAVE LOST 8LBS IN 7 DAYS?? no no no. ahh what else.
In conclusion christmas is soon and now im actually excited that its going to be a happy one :)i am so happy i can breathe. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

wow. just call me miss angelina jolie. haha my lips are huge. I dont know whats going on but they are the size of marshmellows!! i finally feel able to write about my trip to and from the hospital but i just took my meds so bare with me on whatever haha.
Okay. my surgery was scheduled for 10:45am and we had to be there at 8:45. We left my house around 7. As we drove all the way to scottsdale me and my parents jammed out to country music...that helped my nerves a little.they played all my faves. We hopped right onto the HOV lane, it was hysterical we were cheating traffic!! GENIUS. anyway when we got there, their were a bunch of people in the waiting room and I waited for a nurse to call me in, there were several guy nurses and i was like please please NO! i ended up with this really really nice nurse she gave me my cute little purple socks and purple gound and a recuberry bear. Then when she left this old guy came in the hook up my iv. OMG. he tried once in my right arm, didnt succeed it actually hurt really bad then he tried in my hand. no such luck. then he called the professionals in and i didnt feel it at all!!! i was like wow piece of cake. Then we waited for about 2 hours my nerves were incredibly high!!
All i remember after that was the ashetheotician telling me im going to feel really good after this and a bunch of people in the surgery room..i thought they were having a party with pizza and stuff maybe not haha.anyway when i woke up i was in the recovery room and all i remember about that was this girl coming in annd slowly waking up saying the weirdest crap like ohlalala my back hurts. and the nurses laughing. i just sat there cause i couldnt speak.. then i got wheeled into my room id be staying at, my wonderful parents were there waiting for me. (: awww.from there they gave me morphine and blood thinners. The worst part was getting up to use the restroom for the first time and being VERY nauseas. That was the worst feeling ever!!
Since then everything has been so so. Ive lost 5 pounds so far and its only been 4 days! NO BUENO. ill have fun getting my weight back up thats for sure. i sit here and think about all the amazing food i cant wait to eat...BIG JUICY HAMBURGER, OLIVE GARDEN, CHIPOTLE, SHRIMP, SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS, LEELEES SANDIWCHES AYAYAY. my list can go on forever. lol

I am so grateful for my mom she has been there for me every waking moment and couldnt of done any of this without her. I hAVE my moments where im like whyd i put myself through this? i could have survived through life with a messed up jaw and not so perfect smile...but then im like NO! i couldnt i didnt have the self confidence i wanted and I KNOW THIS WAS WHY!! soo woot woot im that much closer to living awhole lot more then i was. i have pictures for everyday so far, ill be putting them on laterr.

Today, I picked up ALL my medication!! There is a lot, I have my own little pharmacy going. Yesterday, I went to the orthodontist and got my surgical wires put in and everything is ready. My mouth is full of metal, eeek. I also got my blood drawn and the stupid old guy took it from my wrist which hurt like heck, im already forming a nice little bruise. aha i also got an ekg and bleeding time test done.ah i think im ready to go. I found out my surgery is at 10:45 but we need to be there at 8:45. Its so soon yet so far. I hope everything goes well and I hope my recovery happens fast! I've never really been in the hospital, just once but when i was really really little so... hospitals kind of freak me out but thank goodness im just at an out patient place in scottsdale. But it still has that hospital vibe going on :/ well, the next time you hear from me im probably going to be in tremendous pain and my heads probablyy going to be three times the size, so they say...haha oh man. Be prepared to see pictures of my progress...

So im going to have surgery on my top and lower jaw in about a week! I just recently had my braces back on and that was something! I never thought in a million years id be putting those bad boys back on! I decided that im going to have a lot of time on my hands after my surgery so, what better thing to do then start a blog on this amazing adventure! I've been waiting for this surgery FOREVER!! It just hit me how drastically this is going to change my life! I cannot think of a time when I wasn't self conscious about my jaw and aware of how akward it makes me feel. I've always wanted the perfect smile and to eat like a normal person. Tomorrow im going to get all my blood work done and get all the final paper work done. December 9th is quickly approaching and im excited and nervous at the same time...but I know this is all going to be worth it!!
